Sisters of St. Mary to Offer Virtual Program on Spirituality of Yoga
People often think of Yoga as a type of exercise, but did you know that Yoga is first and foremost a spiritual and philosophical system? Join us for an interactive virtual event on the Spirituality of Yoga. We will begin our morning with a lecture touching on a basic overview of the history of Yoga. We will then explore ways to incorporate aspects of Yoga into our personal spiritual practices. The second portion of our time will consist of a guided practice - bringing together the body, mind, and spirit - that can be done seated in a chair. There will be time for questions and answers at the end of the event.
The presenter, Casey Perkins-Lawrence, is a Spiritual Life Coach and Yoga Teacher who has been teaching students and training yoga teachers for more than a decade. Casey is also a student at The School of Theology and serves as the Communications Manager for the Sisters of St. Mary. This 90-minute session will be held on Saturday, April 24, from 9–10:30 a.m., via Zoom. The cost of the session is $25, and participants can register at <www.communityofstmarysouth.org>.
