Swiss Heritage Celebration
The Swiss Heritage Celebration will take place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, July 31 on the grounds of the Stoker-Stampfli Farm Museum in Gruetli-Laager. The farm is one of only a few buildings remaining of the original Swiss Colony of Gruetli.
The Stoker-Stampfli Farm Museum is located at 328 Swiss Colony Cemetery Rd. Travel on Highway 108, go north on 20th Ave., and follow the signs. Admission is $5.
There will be hay rides and tours of the farm house, barn and other out buildings dating back to 1869. Vendors will offer food and crafts and area organizations will be on hand with displays of old farming tools and accessories. Music will be provided by the Mountain Top Polka Band from Asheville, N.C. Wine and cheese tastings will be available all day.
